Common questions.
Answers to what people usually ask before reaching out.
What kind of projects do you take on?
I work on embedded systems and electronics projects at different stages of development, from new product development and prototyping to improving, extending, or redesigning existing products. This includes embedded hardware and firmware development, development support, production and test solutions, and redesigns driven by obsolete components or changing requirements.
Do you work with companies outside Germany?
Yes. I am based in Germany and work with companies internationally, particularly across the EU and North America. Depending on the project, collaboration can be fully remote or combined with on-site work when needed.
What's your typical engagement, fixed-scope or ongoing?
Both. For clearly defined development tasks, I can work on a fixed project scope with agreed deliverables. I also support companies on an ongoing basis when they need additional engineering capacity, specialist expertise, or support across several development phases.
What technologies and protocols do you specialize in?
My main focus is embedded C/C++, microcontrollers, bare-metal and RTOS-based systems, and hardware-near development. I regularly work with interfaces and protocols such as CAN, Modbus, UART and RS485, as well as wired and wireless connectivity. On the hardware side, my experience includes schematic design, PCB development, analog and digital electronics, bring-up, debugging, and production testing.
Can you take a product from prototype to certified series production?
Yes. My experience covers the path from early prototypes through hardware and firmware development, bring-up, testing, design iterations, production tooling, documentation, and transfer into series production. I can also support the technical work needed in preparation for compliance and certification, working with external test laboratories where formal certification is required.
Do you build both hardware and firmware, or just one?
Both. I work across electronics and embedded software, from schematic and PCB design to firmware, communication interfaces, device bring-up, and testing. Depending on the project, I can take responsibility for one side or work on the complete embedded system.
How do I get a quote or start a project?
Send me a short description of what you are working on, the current development stage, and where you need support. I can then arrange an initial discussion to understand the technical requirements, scope, and timeline before proposing the best way to work together.
Where are you based, and do you work remotely?
I am based in Berlin, Germany, and work with clients remotely as well as on-site when the project requires it. For development work that can be handled remotely, location is generally not a limitation.
Can you work with an existing engineering team?
Yes. I can work independently on a defined development package or integrate into an existing engineering team. This is particularly useful when additional embedded hardware or firmware capacity is needed for a specific development phase, technical challenge, or deadline.
